EURIEC kick-off

Today, (future) EURIEC employees met up at Maastricht town hall to get acquainted. EURIEC is set to get started on 2 September.

The development of an administrative approach in the fight against organised crime is high on the agenda of the three Benelux countries. In 2014, a working group was set up in Brussels to study the possibilities for an administrative approach to organised crime. In 2016, this working group published a report entitled Tackling Crime Together with their recommendations, which included the creation of an international information and expertise centre for the administrative approach with a view to preventing and combating organised crime in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion.

EURIEC will operate across the entire border region between the Netherlands and Belgium and between the German federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia and Belgium and the Netherlands. For further information about the work and ambitions of EURIEC, consult the Action Plan and the EURIEC brochure.
