The head of EURIEC, Rob Hutschemaekers, discussed cross-border crime and administrative approaches together with regierungspräsidentin Gisela Walsken, and the Mayor of Meerssen, Mirjam Clermonts-Aretz.
In the workshop “Security: labour migration in the border area”, our account manager Annelore Eichel reported on how EURIEC supports the Ministry of Home Affairs, Culture, Building and Equality NRW in combating fraudulent practices involving labour migrants in the German-Dutch border area.
This includes the targeted cross-border action by North Rhine-Westphalian and Dutch authorities on 12 and 13 February 2022. Controls were carried out on 6 accommodation facilities in the German-Dutch border area, all of which were closed until further notice due to significant violations of building regulations.
